Possum trying to find a wife via Quickmeme |
In this story, the author provided then elaborate tale of how a rabbit and a possum were traveling from town to town to try and find a wife. The rabbit decides to trick a town into marrying everyone off so that he could get a wife. The possum arrived late to this town and did not get a wife. The rabbit took him to another town saying he would get the possum a wife there. However, the rabbit, instead of telling the town to marry everyone, told the town that they must make war. So a fight broke out, and the possum had to pretend to be dead to avoid attacks from the people of the town.
One thing that stood out to me was why would the towns do what the rabbit told them to do? They seemed to just blindly trust that what the rabbit was an important figure that they must listen to. This part was really funny to me, and I will definitely include a character who impersonates an important figure to trick others.
I think that I will provide more detail for why the towns listened to the rabbit, such as telling them that he is the mega-lord-supreme-ruler rabbit. This way there is a semi-believable reason for why the towns do everything he says.
